Step into a cosy, creative space each week and let your imagination lead the way. Our Spring Term classes are perfect for anyone who loves art, enjoys working with their hands, and wants to learn the beautiful craft of glass art in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
Led by Suzanne Raffellini; a local independent glass artist with years of experience, a nurturing teaching style, and a genuine passion for helping others grow - these small group sessions give you the time, guidance, and space to explore your creativity at your own pace.
Classes are held at Bellingdon Village Hall, with a choice of friendly weekly sessions to suit your routine and flexibility to attend an alternative session if you miss your usual slot:
• Tuesday mornings starting 21st April
• Wednesday evenings starting 22nd April
• Thursday mornings, afternoons, and evenings starting 23rd April
Each term runs for 10 weeks, with a one-week break for half term, giving you a well-balanced rhythm of learning and rest throughout the season.
Each week, you’ll have the chance to experiment with different techniques and materials, from cutting and shaping glass to layering, fusing, and assembling your own unique pieces. Whether you're a complete beginner or have some experience already, Suzanne’s flexible approach ensures you can follow the term’s theme or work on your own ongoing projects. You’re encouraged to develop your skills in a way that feels enjoyable, natural, and personal to you.
This term's theme is fusing with float glass. We will be using float glass infusing experiments, looking at the differences between the normal art glass that we use and float glass. So we'll be doing cutting experiments, looking at the reactivity, slumping, using
foils, and powders, working with the tin side or the Glass side. We'll also be looking at fusing bottle glass to make interesting items for the garden or home
You will need to supply your own glass; tools are available to use and some commonly occurring materials will be available if needed and refreshments are included, so you can turn up, settle in, and enjoy the creative flow.
These classes are more than just learning a craft, they’re an opportunity to unwind, connect, and immerse yourself in a mindful, hands-on experience. The atmosphere is friendly and informal, with plenty of encouragement, inspiration, and time to ask questions or try something new.
Join us this Summer and discover the joy of creating something beautiful with your own hands.
